Protein Power Lifeplan

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

So many diets, so little time, but which one is right for you? This can be a hard question to answer with all the different diets that are out there today. One diet out there that you may have never heard of is the Protein Power Lifeplan diet. This is one of many diets out there, and before you decide to start it yourself, you should take some time to learn more about the diet, how it works, who it works for, and the pros and cons of the diet as well. So, here is some helpful information that will give you the knowledge to decide whether the Protein Power Lifeplan is a good fit for you.

An Overview of the Protein Power Lifeplan

This diet, the Protein Power Lifeplan diet, which is also the title of their book, was developed by husband and wife, Michael Eades, and Mary Dan Eades, both whom are doctors. Basically the main principle in this diet is that you should limit your carbs and makes sure that you get plenty of protein in your diet. However, the book does offer you various options for how to do it. While this type of a diet can become very complex, the authors let you know that it is fine to take a simpler route. While this diet may not be as restrictive as some low carb diets, it definitely is quite restrictive.

Who it Works for Best

This is a diet that is especially great for people who like it to be simple. People who just want someone to tell them exactly the things that they should be eating will find this diet to be a good one for them because it does tell them exactly what to eat and there is very little variation available.

Pros and Cons of the Diet

Just about any diet is going to have some pros and cons, so you need to figure out what they are so you can weight them and decide whether or not the pros really outweigh the cons of the diet. In some cases the pros do outweigh them, but this is not always the case. Let’s take a look at some of the pros and cons that you’ll find in the Protein Power Lifeplan Diet.

- Pro #1 - It Really is Simple - One pro of this diet is that it really is quite simple. For people who want someone to tell them exactly what to eat, this is a good diet to follow. Once you learn all of the rules, they don’t really change much, so it is quite simple for those who don’t want to deal with things that are constantly changing.

- Pro #2 - Nutrition is Emphasized - Another pro of the Protein Power Lifeplan Diet is that it really does emphasize nutrition. It works on making sure that people do get the nutrition that they need and it also teaches people to make the most out of their carbs so they are sure to get the vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and antioxidants that their body really needs to have.

- Con #1 - You Have to Count Carbs in Everything - Of course there are some negative sides to this diet as well. One of the main cons is that you always have to be counting the carbs in every single thing that you eat, which can definitely get old after time. So, if you don’t want to spend your time constantly counting the carbs in your meal, this may not be the right diet for you.

- Con #2 - Can Have Too Few Carbs - As with many other low carb diets, there is a danger of having too few carbs in your diet as well. It may be difficult to stick to and you may also end up dealing with a carb crash from so drastically limiting the amount of carbohydrates that the body can take in.

- Con #3 - Little Variation is Offered - While it is nice to have a simple diet, this one can get boring because there is so little variation for you to enjoy. There are not many ways that you can adjust this diet, which means it may get old for you very quickly.

Do’s and Don’ts of Food

When you are on Protein Power Lifeplan dieting plan, you’ll find that carbs of any kind of very restricted. Every meal or snack that you have can only contain between 7-10 grams of carbs. Also, you are to use your allotment of carbs to make sure that you get the best nutrition possible with it. Of course you are supposed to eat high amounts of protein as well when you are on this diet.

The Medical Community’s Opinion

When it comes to the opinion of the medical community, there are a few concerns about this diet. One main concern is the low amount of carbs that you get, which can restrict the nutrients that you get in your diet. Also, there is a lot of protein encouraged as well, which is not a great thing according to many people in the medical field. Sure, protein is great, but too much can cause problems in your body.

Disclaimer: Always consult your doctor before starting any diet program.

Getaways in Mudgee NSW

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Hey, the most recent news is that I’ve got a friend who has just come back from a short stay in a town called Mudgee in Australia and he recommends a Guesthouse there. I really wish I could get there someday because it sounds beautiful.

Mudgee is a compact town in the middle of New South Wales and as it happens there are a large number of places to stay nearby. He recommends this Mudgee Guesthouse if you want a jolly, not to say, amazingly hospitable welcome as well as good quality comfortable accommodation at a sensible price. Accommodation in Mudgee is usually of a respectable standard as it happens.

Why do people go to Mudgee to begin with was something I wanted to know (I mean have you heard of big town really and was first settled in about 1820 by some Brits. What my friend was looking for was a place to stay that was near the town yet peaceful. There are many Mudgee Getaways in fact (Getaways is a local term for places to stay) and they are becoming very popular.

Other local towns include Gulgong, Kandos, Rylstone, Hargraves, Hill End. Lue, Windeyer and Wollar and they offer different sorts of accommodation.

Don’t forget that the word “local” seems to have a different meaning down under. So your neighbour may in fact be several kilometres away and I have a hunch that getting from Mudgee to Kandos could take a while too. According to Google Maps the journey is around 70km.

So if you need Mudgee accommodation you want to make sure you have found somewhere good to stay or you could find yourself travelling another hour or two!

Standard cover

This level of cover starts from around £25 and comprehensive cover can be in up to £220.  It’s great if you need it for breakdowns and to get you home when ever you breakdown in the UK.  With any UK breakdown cover company, they will tow you up to 20 miles or so, so if you should breakdown in London and you stay somewhere in Scotland, the breakdown company will take you to the nearest garage for your car to be repaired.  For £25 standard breakdown cover is well worth it, as one breakdown could cost you over £200 with another private breakdown company.

Comprehensive breakdown cover

This level of cover basically does what it says on the tin, if you breakdown, your put up in a hotel if you cannot get home or a replacement will be giving to you if one is available, usually large breakdown companies have plenty of cars available, so not to worry.  Comprehensive cover gives you really great piece of mind, this kind of cover also ensures vehicle parts and labour costs through an approved garage of course and will cost you what so ever.  Only the AA provides this kind of cover (parts cover) because they have the volume of customers to be able to afford to repair your car.

European breakdown cover

If you travel to Europe you can take out European breakdown recovery with any of the large breakdown companies, have a look at a comparison site as they will advise you on which company can assist you with European assistance for your short and long breaks abroad.  Many people don’t even consider taking this level of cover on but I can assure you it may happen even with a brand-new car so take the cover because it is cheap enough and it will save you in hundreds of another company and our country, who knows what other companies abroad will charge.

Get UK breakdown cover it’s worth every penny.

Dressing Correctly For Heavy Machinery Use

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Heavy machinery and power tools are used widely for a large number of reasons, be it construction or renovations. A lot of men are DIY enthusiasts, and may use power tools in their endeavors. There can be a lot of risk when using these powerful tools and one of the best safety measures you can take is to wear the correct clothing. Sometimes, the clothing that you are wearing can be the only thing protecting you from injury! On major construction sites, safety clothing is compulsory, so what is the clothing that these people are wearing?

First of all, it is important that any safety clothing being worn is tight fitting. Of course you will want to allow for freedom of movement, but anything that is too loose or wayward could get caught in the machinery. This includes scarves, flared or cuffed pants and sleeves and even long hair that has not been tied back. A snug fitting pair of cut retardant overalls will suffice.

One of the most important safety clothing items you must wear are gloves. Prolonged exposure to the vibrations of heavy machinery can cause Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Heavy duty, grip enforced gloves should be worn at all times, not only to protect against Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, but also to protect your hands against cuts or injury should something go wrong. A lot of equipment hire companies will instruct you to wear gloves during the use of all their machinery.

A good pair of sturdy boots should be worn at all times whilst operating heavy machinery or power tools obtained from a plant hire company. If you are going to be working with a jackhammer or drill, it is advisable that you opt for the steel-toed variety of boot. This will ensure that your feet are protected should the power tool go amiss.

There are other safety items that are worn on construction sites, depending on the power tool being used and the risk of injury it poses. On a lot of construction sites the workmen are required to wear safety helmets, or hard hats. If the machinery being used is very loud, then it is recommended that ear muffs are worn. When something is being sawed or drilled, safety goggles are required to prevent dust and debris from damaging the eyes.

Advice from a Dallas Personal Trainer for Fitness Over 40

Monday, March 30th, 2009

A younger body is able to recover from fitness mistakes. Although fitness over 40 needs to be approached a little more carefully, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t challenge yourself. As we age, our body is more susceptible to wear and tear. However, you can get great results without pushing yourself too hard, and get the results you want. With these tips from a Dallas personal trainer, you can look great, feel great and increase your quality of life.

Warm Up

Now, more than ever, fitness over 40 should always have a warm up session. No matter what your age, warming up is necessary, but as you get older, it becomes imperative. In all honesty, working out without warming up can be quite dangerous for your body.

Warm ups increase blood circulation, improve joint movement and elevate your ability to absorb oxygen. While embarking on your path of fitness over 40, always warm up. A ten to twenty minute walk is a great way to warm up without overexerting yourself. Try incorporating a few stretches here and there. Once you feel limber, it’s time to begin your fitness for 40-year olds.

Work Out

As stated earlier, fitness for 40-year olds doesn’t mean going soft on your workouts. The workouts you did in your 20s and 30s don’t have to change—the way you go about them, however, does.

Instead of working multiple muscles groups in one workout session, break your days up—arms one day and legs the next and so on. Cardio is an important component when it comes to fitness over 40, so make sure it stays part of your fitness regimen. Strength training and cardio go hand in hand, and will get you great results when done right.

Ladies, if you’ve heard that strength training will bulk you up, you heard wrong.  Now, more than ever is the time to strength train. Just by incorporating strength training a few days a week, will bring about a stronger, healthier and better looking body, which is essential to aging well. You’ll be at less risk for osteoporosis, your skin will glow and your posture will be close to perfect. What woman wouldn’t love that?

Men, same goes for you. The more strength training you do, the stronger you’ll be. When you have a fit body, you’re able to ward off diseases better than men who are out-of-shape. Take pride in yourself and workout regularly.

Cool Down

A cool down is just as important as a warm up when it comes to fitness for 40-year olds. When you take the time to cool down, your breathing regulates, your heart rate stabilizes and your body recovers from working out.

The Bottom Line

Don’t let fitness over 40 scare you. Working out on a regular basis as you age can help you have a long and healthy life. Fitness for aging individuals will keep you feeling great. Taking the time for fitness over 40 will make 50, 60, 70, and 80 all the better. For mor information visit our Dallas personal trainer website and watch the personal trainer Dallas video.

Debt Settlement Assistance

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Bad debt settlement, also known as debt negotiation or debt arbitration, is an approach to debt reduction in which the debtor and creditor agree on a reduced balance that is considered payment in full of an outstanding debt.

Most importantly, debt settlement is a debt relief option which can prevent vulnerable borrowers from declaring bankruptcy.

If done properly, settled debt can provide you with final closure to your debt problems while avoiding lawsuits, liability or wide garnishments, and, most importantly, eliminating the need to consider filing for bankruptcy.

What’s more, for consumers who have heavy unsecured debt, who are maybe deperate for help with credit card debt, struggling to meet their monthly repayments, who are looking for a viable alternative to bankruptcy, debt settlement broker companies offer a totally legal solution.

Debt settlement plans also makes sense from the creditor’s perspective. If a consumer is under financial hardship and files for bankruptcy, the creditor will receive nothing. If the debt is settled, a solution acceptable to both parties is arrived at by a process of negotiation. It is a true win-win situation for both parties. Quite often, particularly in the case of credit card companies, the creditor will not actually lose money due to settlement, they will just make less profit. This is obviously preferable to receiving nothing if the debtor files for bankruptcy.

It may not be possible to emerge from the process with your credit rating entirely unscathed, but debt settlement will be a great deal kinder to your credit rating than bankruptcy or any ongoing debt problems would be.

There are specialist credit settlement companies who make it their business to provide debt relief, help and advice to people just like you.

These bad debt settlement companies employ dedicated professionals who will work on your behalf, taking full advantage of the leverage they have in this situation to achieve substantial reductions in debtors’ unsecured loans.

Questech Sandgate and Dorset Collection

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Leading backsplash tile supplier My Tile Backsplash is pleased to announce the addition of both the Sandgate and Dorset Collection from Questech to there vast selection of backsplash material.

The Sandgate and Dorset Collection offers an array of decorative accents in both a natural stone and a metal look. Each Series has three different categories within each of the Sandgate and Dorset lines.

Questech Metals - Questech invented a breakthrough technology, a process for casting beautiful metal objects at a fraction of the weight and cost of solid metals. This discovery led to the launch of the industry’s first mass produced metal tiles, creating an important new category in the tile and home improvement markets. The difference between the two series of Sandgate and Dorset Collections is the style offerings between them. The colors that are offered are the same, just different designs between the two series.

Questech Cast Stone - Questech broke the mold again, with their revolutionary product of the cast stone series. These decorative pieces have a resemblance of natural stone with the look of travertine and marble. The product offering in this category is phenomenal. The selection includes everything from a 2″ x 2″ to a large 16″ x 24″ mural. Again, the color offering between the Sandgate and the Dorset collection are the same, just the different designs associated with each series.

Questech Natural Stone - This includes a factory-sealed tumbled marble collection offered in both Castle Wheat and Casa Emperador. Tumbled marble tiles have better wear properties, warmer feels, softer appearance and a matte finish. Tumbled Marble with Q-Seal provides a built-in anti-bacterial protection. Ultra-Fresh inhibits the growth of stain and odor causing mold and mildew. It is factory applied and will not lose its effectiveness over time. The added anti-bacterial protection makes the tiles ideal for showers, tub surrounds and kitchen backsplashes. They will never be the worry of having to reseal the tiles or worry about special stone cleaners.

As with all the products from Questech, each and every one of the products is sealed with their Q-Seal. The fear of sealing or water-damaged products does not exist with the Questech product line.

What Does Your Child Really Want?

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Whether you have a toddler who uses the birth cry when he wants to ask for something, trying to figure out their needs is a tough task.. Mothers often agonize over what new reading words would be best, what what font size is best right now, or whether or not the DIY textbook is sophisticated enough for her infant. The heart of a great home program is knowing what your child really wants every time. Let him voice his own opinion.

Your child is able to describe on their needs and wants.Ask him and he will tell you. Kids always know what they want but they very often can not express it. Infants cannot always retrieve the word they want when they want it.

Try doing Questions & Answers on a blackboard. Teachers say quietly to the screaming kid, “Are you hungry?” and then doctors hold up a little choice board with YES, NO, and OTHER written on it in large print as recommended by Glenn Doman.

5 Tips to Lower Your Golf Score

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

A golfers skill is measured by how few strokes it takes them to complete a course. The fewer the better. Regardless of what type of competition or game you’re playing, the person who is able to finish a hole with the fewest amount of strokes is going to win.

In this article, I will offer you five golf tips on how to lower your golf score, regardless of what skill level you are currently at.

1. Learn about the physics of golfing. Much of your control in golf will be determined by properly utilizing physics. Familiarize yourself with how they golf ball flies in the air, and what can affect its trajectory path, as well as its distance. This will help you be able to control your shots better, and estimate the distance you will be able to achieve depending upon the weight of your ball and clubs.

2. Strengthen your body. Even though golf is largely a mental game, it pays to be physically strong. If you are strong, it is easier for you to hit the ball further, all other things being equal. In addition, if you’re playing a tournament, it is necessary to have the proper endurance to stay mentally sharp. You get that endurance by being physically fit.

3. Learn your ideal swing. While the perfect swing isn’t the same for everyone, everyone has their own perfect swing. Experiment with yours until you find your sweet spot, and then dissect what makes it work and try to improve upon it.

4. Develop a golf regimen. Golf is a game of consistency. By consistently conditioning yourself to perform at a higher level, it will be easier than training sporadically. Even if it is something simple, do at least one thing every day to improve your game.

5. Develop a golfer’s mindset. So much of the competition in golf comes down to mental toughness. But keeping your mind focused, you will not break concentration at critical moments in your game. This will give you an edge when competing against others.
